Description
New York City restaurant veterans Aris Tuazon and Jim Harvey Sy introduces Manila Bowl to The Market SF. Aris, chef/owner of Ugly Kitchen, Claw Daddy’s and Mighty Bowl in New York City will introduce his take on Filipino cuisine to the mid-Market neighborhood which surprisingly lacks this option given the concentration of workers and residents of Filipino heritage in the area. As the name implies, the menu will consist mostly of rice bowls that have been inspired and thoughtfully crafted to represent the unique and diverse flavors of the regional specialties of the Philippines. Various options will be offered as a vehicle to pair with the main dishes including healthier alternatives such as Quinoa and Salad bowls. Additionally, various classics such as lumpia, arroz caldo, langonisa buns and even a version of lechon will be offered as appetizer and breakfast options to round out the daily rotating menu. The partners have stated that their aim is to pay homage to tradition while pushing Filipino food to the forefront of San Francisco’s culinary consciousness.
